There is Surfies Point West which lies to the west of the point, and Surfies Point East to the east of the point. Waves break over wide reefs and although low at the shore, there are strong currents over the reefs.

There is car parking along The Esplanade, Sunderland Bay with the most convenient being where Batman Avenue ends.
