Picnic Bay, South is suitable for both snorkelling and scuba diving from the shore or boat. Picnic Bay lies between the small Picnic Point to the north, and Leonard Point to the south, in the Wilsons Promontory Marine Park.

The Picnic Bay, South site lies at the southern end of 500 metre long Picnic Bay Beach, on the northern side of Leonard Point. From the southern end of Picnic Bay Beach you head around the rocks towards Leonard Point. It has boulders sloping down to a sandy bottom at a depth of 6 metres about 150 metres out from the beach.
